Liguria’s Diary is my personal record of winter life in the Riviera delle Palme, written during our two-month stay in and around Varigotti.

I’m here with my Italian husband and our two dogs – a Golden Retriever and an English Setter. We came looking for a change from our life in Northern Europe, and to see whether this part of Liguria could one day become permanent for us. While most of what you can find online about this area focuses on summer tips and recommendations, Liguria’s Diary explores life here in Winter.

Here, I write about local markets, delicacies, and eateries, along with walks, small inland and coastal trips as well as daily life in the area.

I hope that for anyone interested in winter season travel, slow living and a change of pace this blog offers a glimpse into what might be possible.
